It’s easy to lose track of what day, week and even month it is, but on behalf of the Central Texas Food Bank staff, I wanted to reach out to tell you that today, you are so appreciated!
Thank you so much for your recent donation to the Central Texas Food Bank. Your gift will allow us to create4344 meals for Central Texans in need right now. It’s nearly impossible to put in words how our need has grown and even more so, how impactful your gift is, but I wanted to share about one of the 1,515 families who received an emergency food box at a recent distribution (news coverage and photos here).
This is Jessica, a single working mom, and her three kids Jeniha (5), Jayden (2) and Jayla (1).
In a time where she’s constantly trying to figure out her next step, Jessica said this distribution “takes a lot of relief off trying to figure out what I’m going to do next.” And because of the emergency box she received, she “doesn’t have to worry about what’s my kid going to eat tomorrow, for dinner, or breakfast.”
While we can’t wait for the day when the lines at our distribution are shorter, and ultimately empty, the Food Bank will continue to be here to serve families like Jessica’s when they need us most.
